No. 17 – Eclipsed Horizon – 22" Necklace
A one-of-a-kind necklace assembled from some of the most sacred and storied bead traditions on earth — bold, eclectic, and alive with ancient energy. This is a collector’s piece in the truest sense.
The strand builds from a base of small white bone heishi disc beads — humble, rhythmic, and grounding — punctuated by large carved dark wooden cylinder beads that add earthy mass and warmth. Then the statement elements arrive: oversized black and white dzi oval beads with bold wave and eye patterns, each one a traditional Tibetan protective amulet believed to bring fortune and ward off harm. A hand-painted Venetian-style glass barrel bead in deep blue, red and white adds a flash of Old World artistry, and an etched brown bone cylinder and a geometric circle-pattern dzi round complete the composition’s remarkable cast of characters.
The centrepiece pendant is a long, tapered bone dagger — strikingly striped in black and white, dramatic in its silhouette, and completely singular in its presence. It hangs like a talisman from another era.
Photographed on aged red-painted wood beside a Tibetan thangka scroll painting, a brass offering cup, a carved wooden box, and small turquoise and coral bear fetishes — sacred objects surrounding a sacred piece.
Impression: Ancient, powerful, and magnificently strange. Eclipsed Horizon is for the collector who has always known their taste exists outside any category — and celebrates that fact.
