No. 14 – Fossilized Waters – 22" Necklace
A one-of-a-kind two-strand necklace where the ancient ocean meets the desert sky — dark, vivid, and beautifully balanced between opposites.
Two distinct strands run the length of this piece in quiet conversation: one of matte black onyx rounds, smooth and deeply grounded, absorbing light like still water at night; the other of vivid turquoise rounds, bright and alive, glowing like sunlit shallows over white sand. Where they meet at the centre, two lustrous white pearls emerge as a point of softness and contrast before giving way to the pendant.
That pendant is an intricate silver filigree rectangle — its surface a lattice of fine wirework and ornamental detail — finished with three delicate dangling carnelian drops in warm amber-red that sway with every movement. The overall effect is of something assembled over a lifetime of travel and collection rather than in a single sitting.
Photographed on soft blue denim textile beside hand-carved turquoise bear fetishes and raw carnelian pieces — each prop a nod to the Southwest traditions that inspire this piece’s soul.
Impression: Grounded and vibrant in equal measure. Fossilized Waters is for the woman who holds the desert and the ocean inside her simultaneously — and wears both without apology.
