No. 61 – Grand Canyon Rock, Dinosaur Coprolite & Petrified Wood Oval | Miniature Worlds Paperweight

$145.00

Every Miniature World begins with a single bead — and a question: what story does it want to tell? This one answered across 1.8 billion years — across the full arc of geological time from the first hard rock of the early Earth, through the age of the great reptiles, to the last ancient forests — three chapters of deep time, sealed together in crystal-clear resin on your desk.

This is the geological time trilogy of the Miniature Worlds collection. Approximately 5” wide × 3” tall × 1” high, horizontal orientation, smooth full dome. The resin is crystal-clear — pure transparent, like a natural history museum specimen case — chosen specifically so nothing competes with the extraordinary contents. Three specimens, three eras:

~1.8 billion years old — A piece of actual rock from the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Flat-faced, sedimentary-layered, grey and tan — the geological strata of Precambrian Earth visible in its face. Older than complex life. Older than oxygen in the atmosphere. The oldest thing most people will ever hold.

~65–230 million years old — A genuine dinosaur coprolite. Fossilized dinosaur dung — dark brown, rounded, organic in form — one of the most remarkable and rare fossil types in existence. This is direct physical evidence of a living dinosaur. The animal that produced this walked the Earth when the continents were still moving into position.

~100,000 to millions of years old — A piece of petrified wood. A tree that was alive — growing, photosynthesizing, standing — and was slowly replaced by mineral over geological time until it became stone. The wood grain is still visible. You can see where the growth rings were.

Together in one piece. One oval. One desk.

  • Form: Oval rounded rectangle — approximately 5” wide × 3” tall × 1” high, horizontal orientation, smooth full dome
  • Resin: Crystal-clear transparent — museum specimen case
  • Specimen 1: Actual Grand Canyon rock — Precambrian sedimentary, geological strata visible — ~1.8 billion years old
  • Specimen 2: Genuine dinosaur coprolite — fossilized dinosaur dung — ~65–230 million years old
  • Specimen 3: Petrified wood — wood grain still visible — ~100,000 to millions of years old
  • One of a kind — no two are alike

1.8 billion years. 65 million years. Ancient forest. Three things that survived everything, together now in one place, permanent.
