No. 65 – Midnight Owl, Peacock Feather & Malachite Oval | Miniature Worlds Paperweight
Every Miniature World begins with a single bead — and a question: what story does it want to tell? This one answered after dark — from the hour when the owl opens its eyes and the forest goes quiet and everything that was hidden in daylight becomes visible.
This oval rounded-rectangle resin piece is the most nocturnal and magical in the Miniature Worlds collection. Approximately 5” wide × 3” tall × 1” high, horizontal orientation, smooth full dome. The resin is deep midnight black — cosmic and nocturnal — scattered throughout with warm gold and pink glitter flecks that catch and hold light like stars in a night sky. In the upper left, a stunning iridescent peacock feather in deep cobalt and teal, its distinctive scale eyespot pattern shimmering with the blue-green iridescence of a butterfly wing. Sweeping diagonally across the full field, a long slender natural brown and grey feather — the wingspan of something large, something that moves through dark air silently. At center left, a small rough chunk of raw green malachite — earthy and ancient, the color of deep forest shadow. And at the center, the heart of the piece: a gorgeous detailed silver owl charm — intricate scale and feather texture, black jet eyes, and a chest of vivid pink rhinestones glowing like a lantern in the dark. The owl is watching. It always is.
