No. 68 – Thousand Beads Concentric Ring Circle | Miniature Worlds Paperweight
Every Miniature World begins with a single bead — and a question: what story does it want to tell? This one answered with every bead at once — every color, every ring, from the dark center of the universe outward to the very edge — a complete world made of a thousand small decisions, each one placed by hand.
This circular resin piece is the most technically extraordinary in the Miniature Worlds collection — and perhaps the most labor-intensive object you will ever hold. Round, smooth-domed, approximately 4” diameter × 1” high. The resin is crystal-clear — completely transparent — existing only to hold in place what fills it entirely: thousands of mixed seed beads in every color imaginable, arranged in tight concentric rings that radiate from the center outward to the very edge. Red. White. Cobalt blue. Warm yellow and gold. Orange. Forest green. Clear. Black. Every ring slightly different, the colors shifting and cycling as the eye moves outward — like a woven basket seen from above, like a mosaic floor, like a carnival from altitude, like a mandala made by someone with infinite patience and all the colors in the world. Warm gold shimmer catches between the rows. And at the absolute center — a piece of raw obsidian — volcanic glass, ancient and absolute, jet black and total — the eye of the storm, the origin point, the dark from which all those rings of color radiate outward. Every color in existence, born from the black.
