No. 34 – Garnet Forest & Teal Tide | Miniature Worlds Paperweight
Every Miniature World begins with a single bead — and a question: what story does it want to tell? This one answered from the deep woods at the edge of the sea. Dark moss rises from a teal tide. A garnet glows at the crown. And a silver rose waits below, patient as a secret kept for centuries.
This round resin paperweight is the most romantically dark piece in the collection. The outer ring of the dome holds deep teal and blue-green resin shimmering with gold leaf flakes — the color of labradorite, of deep water, of something just below the surface. At the center, a mass of dark moss and lichen, densely covered in black iridescent seed beads, rises like an ancient forest floor sealed in glass. A large deep red garnet cabochon crowns the composition — rich, glowing, unmistakable. Below it, a delicate silver chain carries an ornate Victorian filigree rose medallion, its scrollwork intricate and luminous. A strand of small freshwater pearls on a fine silver chain drapes across the upper field, while a white cone shell rests at the lower center and a small gold textured snail shell anchors the left edge. Gold leaf flakes drift through the teal resin throughout.
