No. 40 – Space Shuttle Launch | Miniature Worlds Paperweight

Every Miniature World begins with a single bead — and a question: what story does it want to tell? This one answered with a countdown. Ten. Nine. Eight. The ground shakes. The sky fills with smoke and color and fire — and then something impossibly heavy becomes impossibly light, and rises.

This round resin paperweight captures the moment of liftoff in miniature. The surface of the dome is cut in a full diamond star-facet pattern — prismatic as a porthole on a spacecraft, fracturing light in every direction. Beneath it, the interior field is packed with crushed grey and white material evoking the billowing concrete dust and steam clouds of a launch pad at ignition. Into that field, vivid electric cobalt blue and hot pink magenta plumes burst outward like the chromatic chaos of rocket exhaust against a clear sky. Smooth black oval accents and black seed beads suggest the depth of space overhead. Square iridescent mirror tiles flash like instrument panels and reflected light. At the absolute center, a silver metallic shuttle/rocket silhouette lifts off over a vivid glowing amber and orange resin core — the engine fire, sealed forever at the moment of ignition.
